First Look: Expedition Suite on the New Polar-Class Crystal Endeavor

On Saturday, Luxury Travel Advisor boarded Crystal’s new expedition ship, Crystal Endeavor, for a two-night preview cruise round-trip from PortMiami to Bimini in the Bahamas.

While aboard, we got a quick look at a top suite, No. 700, an Expedition Penthouse (EP) Suite. Here’s a first look at some of this impressive suite’s spaces. Located forward on Seabreeze Deck 7, the Expedition Penthouse Suite spans 985 square feet as well as an additional 684 square feet on the private veranda.

Expedition Suite guests desiring even more space can expand their accommodations by adding the adjacent Deluxe Suite with Veranda, No. 702. That's a 304-square foot suite with another living area, bedroom, full bath and veranda. So, by booking both suites, guests can spread out in 1,290 square feet of interior space, plus enjoy 735 square feet of veranda space.

No. 700 – Entry Area

Heading inside No. 700, to the immediate right is a door to this suite's solo bedroom area with its own single bed, desk, flat-screen TV, as well as a compact bathroom that offers a shower, toilet and one sink. It’s really the perfect, comfortable small bedroom/bath area for a child or perhaps an “au pair,” health aide or even a friend or relative of the guests who are staying in the suite's more spacious, master bedroom.

Across the entryway from that small, single accommodation is also a separate guest bathroom.

Main Living Area

Walking further into the suite, guests will enter an expansive living space that's furnished with two comfortable couches, a desk area along one wall and a large wall-mounted flat-screen TV. Guests can use two stylish cocktail tables and bask in the nifty fireplace-like effect from the area below the TV screen.

Near this living area, a separate door also leads to that attached suite, No. 702. Floor-to-ceiling glass provides much natural light as well as access to the suite's large veranda. (See photo below).

Dining Area

Adjacent to the living room area is a large dining area with large table, six dining chairs, another type of chair, a credenza with mini-bar and more.

Master Bedroom

Further forward is the master bedroom with a king-sized bed, convertible to two twins. It also has a dresser, attractive artwork (which is the case throughout the suite) and a large flat screen TV that pops up from the cabinetry at the foot of the bed.

Guests enjoy sea views and and direct access to the large wrap-around veranda. We liked the bedroom’s integrated reading lights, nightstands with USB outlets and its rich, pampering feel. Two accent pillows (shaggy, but soft and elegant) provided a creative touch to the plush bedding.

Master Bathroom

Guests staying in the master bedroom can walk directly into their master bathroom. The top draw for many guests is likely to be the humongous whirlpool soaking tub for two. The veranda's outside furniture is visible through floor-to-ceiling glass.

The bathroom also has heated floors, dual sinks, a large, glass-enclosed rainforest shower and separate toilet compartment with wash basin. Guests also will find natural, eco-friendly Caudalie bath products, soft kimonos, plush ETRO robes and slippers.
