Seabourn Encore to Return to Service Earlier Than Scheduled

Seabourn has announced that Seabourn Encore will resume service earlier than planned on February 19, 2022, with a series of 10- and 11-day itineraries to the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean, roundtrip from Lisbon, Portugal, during the winter and spring of 2022. The shipwhich was earlier scheduled to set sail on April 17, 2022, will become the third ship in Seabourn’s fleet to return to service.

Seabourn Encore will explore the Spanish archipelago and Madeira between February and April 2022. In addition, the ship will sail on a 15-day voyage along the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea from Lisbon to Athens, Greece, where it will be positioned for its originally scheduled Eastern Mediterranean deployment in the summer. Guests opting for a longer cruise to the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean can avail of a 22- or 26-day "Combination Cruise" in March and April, besides a 10 percent discount. The Canary Islands and Mediterranean voyages will be open for booking from October 5, 2021.

Seabourn and Belinda King Creative Productions will also welcome entertainment partner Sir Tim Rice onboard Seabourn Encore’s first return to service voyage on February 19, 2022. Rice will share his career highlights and perform alongside the Seabourn singers and dancers. In addition, guests can enjoy performances by “The Kings,” a new contemporary male vocal group. Shows are currently scheduled to run on February 19 and March 1 voyages in 2022.

Located near the coast of Morocco in North Africa, the Canary Islands have been considered a bridge between four continents, and thus a critical navigation point. Destinations for Seabourn Encore include Santa Cruz de La Palma, Puerto de la Estaca, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, San Sebastian de la Gomera, Las Palmas, and Arrecife, plus a call at Funchal, Portugal.

Sailing west from Lisbon and the Atlantic coast of Portugal, Seabourn Encore will offer visits to Barcelona, Spain; Valletta, Malta; Syracusa and Crotone, Italy; and Kérkira (Corfu), Sámi, Thira (Santorini), and Naousa on various islands off the coast of Greece.

Seabourn’s Canary Islands voyages will offer guests a range of activities on and off the ship. As the official cruise partner of UNESCO World Heritage, Seabourn Encore will offer options for guests to discover sites of culture and natural wonder at select ports of call, with “World Heritage” shore excursions. For instance, in the Canary Islands, guests can join a “North Island Discovery Tour” at Santa Cruz de La Palma; discover El Hierro at Puerto de la Estaca; and hike through Garajonay National Park at San Sebastian de la Gomera.

Guests will also have the opportunity to take their travel further with a choice offering from the Seabourn Journeys collection. All Seabourn Journeys offer stays in five-star hotels, with most meals included. “The UNESCO Lisbon, Fatima & Porto” (four-day, three-night) itinerary will be offered pre- and post-cruise for guests embarking or disembarking in Lisbon. The itinerary includes a visit to the religious site of Fatima to take in the Chapel of Apparitions and the Sanctuary, and several UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Porto, including City Hall and San Bento Train Station. Guests can explore Duoro Valley, participate in a wine-tasting session, and visit historic buildings of Coimbra University, one of the world’s oldest universities in continuous operation.
