Oceania Cruises has added a new Go Local series of shore excursions.

More than 120 tours small-batch tours are offered throughout EuropeAlaska, and South America. These include: A Day at the Farm in Kusadasi, Turkey, Hidden Treasures of Milongas in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Playing Gaelic Games in Cork, Ireland.

Here are some examples:

  • Shepard for a Day in Mahon, Spain—Travelers learn the lifestyle and operation of a farm in the countryside of Ciutadella or Es Mercadal.
  • Shop for Dinner and Set the Table in Buenos Aires, Argentina—Guests browse local markets with a guide and then eat at a local residence.
  • Fishing with The Natives in Portofino, Italy—Cruisers take to the seas with a local fishing crew and watch them reel in the catch of the day.  
  • Ardmore Village & Inspiration of a Local Artist in Waterford, Ireland—A local artist known as “The Cow Lady” hosts a hands-on painting class in her studio at the Brigid Shelly Gallery in Ardmore.

This series is a product of the OceanNext initiative.

In other Oceana Cruises news, the company is adding explorations of the Holy Lands of Egypt, Israel, and Turkey, the Arabian Peninsula, India, Myanmar, and Indonesia. All itineraries include overnight port calls with some having as many as four overnights.
