The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Cuts Steel on Third Vessel

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has marked a construction milestone with a steel-cutting ceremony for its newest superyacht, Luminara, at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. The company’s third yacht and second new-build constructed with the shipyard is slated to set sail in 2025. Taking part in the celebration were Jim Murren, executive chairman and CEO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection; Ernesto Fara, president and CFO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection; Laurent Castaing, general manager of Chantiers de l’Atlantique; and Arnaud Le Joncour, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Chantiers de l’Atlantique, alongside other key guests involved in the project.

The 448-guest Luminara will measure 794 feet, mirroring sister yacht Ilma, which is slated to debut in 2024. In addition to 224 suites, each with a private ocean-view terrace, and a high percentage of upper-category suites, the onboard experience will include multiple dining options, a wine vault, a signature spa, and an expanded marina providing direct access to the sea. Luminara will have interior finishes by London-based AD Associates, with creative direction by Toronto-based Chapi Chapo and lighting designer DPA. The yacht’s exterior design has been crafted by Helsinki-based studio Aivan.

Designed with enhanced environmental specs and technologies to minimize ecological impact, the custom-built superyacht will be the second vessel in the collection to be equipped with four dual-fuel engines and utilize liquefied natural gas (LNG) as its primary fuel source, reducing emissions compared to traditional practices.

Reservations for the 2025 season of Luminara itineraries will open this fall. Luminara will join Ilma and Evrima, the company’s first yacht that launched in October 2022, on itineraries to secluded harbors and iconic cities of the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Voyages will range from seven to 10 nights and offer an all-inclusive experience. Reservations for Ilma are open as the superyacht continues to make significant advancements in the build process ahead of its debut in the fall of 2024. The superyachts are also available for private charter.
