Abercrombie & Kent has released a 2020 preview of dates and prices for the company’s 20 most-requested Small Group Journeys, along with a new journey that combines Australia and New Zealand. Also new for 2020 is the addition of "Design Your Day," an A&K offering that allows guests to personalize a group journey.
Beginning in 2020, all of A&K's Luxury Small Group Journeys will include a "Design Your Day," with a choice of at least three curated excursions, including one designed for more active guests. In China, guests may explore the West Bund Art Center, savor street food or walk through Shanghai’s historic Jewish Quarter. In Southern Africa, there is a choice of visiting a rural village in Zimbabwe, privately touring an artisan jewelry studio or biking along the Zambezi River near Victoria Falls. In Australia, guests have the choice of a cruise around Sydney Harbour, a bike tour with a local guide or a walk through the historic Rocks District, Sydney’s oldest neighborhood.
On the new Australia & New Zealand: The Lands Down Under itinerary, travelers can explore the Outback of Australia and the fjords of New Zealand for 17 days. The journeu includes a stay at Longitude 131º, which offers views of Uluru (Ayers Rock). Other highlights include a day on the Great Barrier Reef, followed by a chance to see the indigenous Australian wildlife up close; an exploration of New Zealand’s Milford Sound from the air and the water; an an option for travelers to learn about life in Queenstown by visiting a private home and the gallery of a local artist; and a tasting and tour of the caves at a local vineyard.
A&K Luxury Small Group Journeys are limited to no more than 18 guests, allowing access to private museum openings and visits with local people in their own homes. A resident tour director orchestrates the entire experience, accompanying guests throughout and sharing their perspective. For amenities, A&K guests are provided with breakfast in bed and Traveller’s Valet laundry service at the midpoint of their journey. Private arrival, departure transfers and Internet access is also included. In addition, traveling bell boy service is offered to transfer luggage from hotel to hotel.
