Looking for a brag-worthy adventure? Red Savannah announced a new nine-day Antarctica by Private Jet itinerary that includes visiting an emperor penguin colony, trekking to and exploring ice tunnels, spending a night at the South Pole and staying in a private pod.
After arriving in Cape Town, where guests will meet the team and have the day at leisure, guests will fly on a Gulfstream jet to Antarctica. Here, they will stay at the Whichaway Camp, which has space for just a dozen guests. The pods sleep two and have a double bed (with fur blankets and pillows), a writing desk and a wash area and toilet. For guests traveling individually, the pod can be partitioned to allow additional privacy. The camp also has a shower pod and kitchen pod.
What we love: During the day spent with the emperor penguin colony, the birds will actually waddle over to the guests, giving the travelers a chance to get up close and personal. During leisure days, guests can explore ice caves and visit science bases where you can learn more about the destinations and research that’s being conducted there.
A bucket-list experience is visiting the South Pole where the guests will stay overnight at the South Pole Camp. Prior to leaving, guests will add one of the rarest stamps to their passport.
Good to know: The itinerary is operated on the ground with an accredited CarbonNeutral team that has a zero-impact policy. To note: A significant proportion of the camp is powered by renewable energy, all of the emissions are offset through a portfolio of carbon projects for the flights, and all human waste is transported out of the destination.
The itinerary starts at $96,000 and includes roundtrip private jet transfers from Cape Town to Antarctica, flights in Antarctica to / from the South Pole and emperor penguin colony, all accommodations, food and drinks, guides and all activities. Departures are November, December and January. Contact Charlie Lockwood ([email protected]), Antarctica specialist.
