For the third year in a row, the prestigious Krug Champagne host will be hosting its lavish event, “Krug en Capitale” in Paris. In December 2012, Krug took over the penthouse of La Samaritaine, the landmark department store on the Seine that’s currently being transformed into a luxury hotel.
This year Krug has staked out another prime location: the 8th floor of the Plaza Athénée, the Dorchester Collection’s mythical palace hotel on the Avenue Montaigne. As the hotel is currently closed for renovations, this is a particularly exclusive venue to hold a party. And the Eiffel Tower suite commands superb views over the French capital (and it has a big terrace, to boot). Sebastien Leon, the French artist and musician based in New York, has decorated the suite, devising a musical sculpture inspired by Krug Champagne bottles.
Running from April 9-23, “Krug en Capitale” will welcome just 14 invités to a pop-up restaurant orchestrated by Michelin three-star chef Alain Ducasse. The tasting menu will be paired with Krug cuvées. The price is 450 euros per person. Hurry, there are still a few more places available; you can sign up directly on the website: www.krugencapitale.fr
