The Charleston hotel scene continues to heat up with a number of new openings luring visitors to discover (or rediscover) the “New South.” After the The Spectator and The Grand Bohemian Hotel, The Restoration is the latest luxe hotel to turn heads in town. Following a large renovation and expansion project, The Restoration celebrated an official ribbon cutting and hotel reopening at the end of February.

Five historic buildings on King Street were combined for the project which showcases the 54-room hotel, the Port Mercantile boutique (for luxury shopping), a library by Assouline, a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views over Charleston Harbor, and the Amethyst Spa.

Luxury is in the details; guests are privy to Martone bicycles for spins around town, a made-to-order Breakfast Basket, an iPad for in-room use, and bath products by Beekman 1802. Another perk: The Rise Coffee Bar, serving coffee from Toby’s Estate, the famed small batch roaster.
