Il Sereno, Lake Como

Back in 2011, the owners of the Sereno Group (of St. Barth's fame) announced plans for a second hotel in another exclusive destination for jetsetters: the adult playground of Lake Como. We’ve been keeping careful watch on the hotel’s development; originally scheduled to open in 2013, it’s now slated for a spring 2016 debut. To be called il Sereno, the hotel will have the same DNA as Le Sereno on St. Barth’s: “relaxed privacy, understated elegance, and inspiring design.”

Il Sereno will be located on a bluff on the eastern shore of the lake, next to the village of Torno and six miles from the city of Como. One of the best perks will be the hotel’s private dock, so that guests can arrive in style aboard the hotel’s wooden boat- a custom-built water-limousine. In-demand designer Patricia Urquiola was recruited to decorate the 34 suites. Il Sereno will have a 60-foot infinity pool and a terrace restaurant that’s destined to be the place to see and be seen.
