Hotel de Crillon in Paris Postpones Renovation Closure

Good news for the Paris glitterati "holding their breath" over the closure of not one, but two palace hotels in the City of Light. Though The Ritz Paris recently closed for a top-to-bottom overhaul, the Crillon will not be directly following suit as anticipated. The luxury hotel on the Place de la Concorde has postponed its closing date to March 31, 2013.

At that time, the hotel will shutter for two years for an extensive renovation project which will add a new spa and transform the guest rooms, restaurants and public areas. Paris hotels continue to up the ante in the luxury market with the pending arrival of swish new properties (like The Peninsula in 2014) and updating century-old landmarks (like the Plaza Athenée).
