A Coastal Holiday Escape at L’Auberge Del Mar

The L’Auberge Del Mar, a Destination Hotel, is offering a “Southern California Coastal Holiday Escape” this year with a holiday package, family Christmas activities, holiday dinners and more. The resort in San Diego’s coastal North County is inviting guests to spend the holidays in luxury.

Rest & Recharge (Through December 24): This holiday package is designed for guests to escape the rush of the holidays and reward themselves with quiet time to recharge and revitalize their spirits. Guests receive a discount on seasideguest room accommodations, a daily $20 resort credit, complimentary valet and a custom L’Auberge Del Mar blanket.

Holiday Activities

Holiday Cooking Class with Chef Nathan Lingle (November 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.): Join Chef Nathan Lingle as he offers cooking tips and tricks for every holiday party. Lingle will share three different methods for cooking a turkey to perfection and help guests create both traditional and non-traditional sides for a holiday feast.

Additionally, the resort’s resident mixologist will concoct holiday drinks for participants; attendees will receive a special edition recipe book as well as a custom-designed apron. 

Santa by the Sea Christmas Tree Lighting (December 3, from 3 to 6 p.m.): The tree lighting is an annual tradition at Del Mar Village, complete with servings of cookies, cocoa and bisque shooters. Attendees are invited to share the holiday spirit by bringing a new teddy bear for a child in need. 

Make Your Own Gingerbread House (December 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.): Each parent-child team in the competition receives handmade gingerbread pieces to assemble and decorate under the guidance of the resort’s pastry team. During the event, participants will also get to enjoy a hot cocoa bar with house-made marshmallows with an assortments of toppings, holiday cookies and other pastries. 

Story Time with Bergie the Elf at KITCHEN 1540’s Fireplace (December 23 at 7 p.m.): Kids can join L’Auberge Del Mar’s elf, Bergie, as he reads Christmas tales to send them off to bed. Hot cocoa and holiday treats will be served as well. 

2017 Holiday Dining at L’Auberge Del Mar

Chef Nathan Lingle of KITCHEN 1540 will be preparing a three-course Thanksgiving dinner, as well as a winter-inspired meal with seasonal desserts on Christmas Day and a six-course feast with wine pairing options for New Year’s Eve; following this meal, guests can enjoy live entertainment in the living room.

The award-winning Spa L’Auberge offers special treatments to beautify, relax, and invigorate before and during the holidays, including: All is Merry and Bright, an anti-aging facial; Sugar and Spice Body Retreat; Chocolate Peppermint Pedicure; and an aromatherapy massage.
