Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London has dreamed up “The Ultimate Proposal.” (If you’ve been swept up with The Crown-inspired royal fever, and Meghan Markle mania, perhaps now’s the time to jet to London...) The luxury hotel offers some of the most thrilling views in the British capital; it’s situated on floors 34-52 of the Renzo Piano-designed skyscraper that rises 1,004 feet above London Bridge station.
And now the Shangri-La Hotel, At the Shard is looking to take your romance to another level. They’ve teamed up with The London Helicopter—the only helicopter tour company to fly over the capital from a central London location—on a new proposal package combining sky-high accommodations with a helicopter ride so you can pop the question over the city.
Called “London Max,” the 30-minute helicopter ride takes in landmarks like Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, and St. Paul’s Cathedral… not to mention the “Will you Marry Me” sign which the pilots have strategically placed. After the helicopter ride, the couple returns to the Shard via chauffeured transfer, where they’re treated to a five-course tasting menu (with wine pairings) in TING Restaurant. To cap off the evening, the couple can revel in the views from GONG bar, the highest hotel bar in Western Europe, while sipping bubbly. (A bottle of Dom Pérignon is included in the package.) And then sleep off their food coma in a luxurious suite, which comes with butler service and Acqua Di Parma bathroom amenities.
