Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort Debuts the Star Bed Experience

Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort, an adults-only property off the northern coast of Mozambique, has introduced its signature Star Bed Experience. The experience is a romantic getaway where couples may be whisked away to their own uninhabited private island to watch the sunset, linger over dinner and enjoy a sleepover under the stars.

Blending adventure with Anantara’s luxuries, the romantic getaway begins with a 15-minute voyage on a traditional dhow boat on the Indian Ocean. Arriving at Quissanga Island, couples are left alone to take in the sunset, accompanied only by their pre-selected refreshments. As the stars come out, the private beach is illuminated by torches and candles. Dinner on the private beach offers the choice of a formal table setting or a relaxed picnic on cushions. A gourmet basket filled with Mediterranean salads, marinated meat and seafood kebabs with homemade sauces, chocolate brownies and fruit skewers are all available.

Those who prefer an island BBQ can request a personal chef (at an extra charge). This includes: Salads and sashimi, followed by flame-grilled meats and seafood in exotic marinades, paired with any beverages the couple wants; it's completed by tropical fruits and a gourmet dessert.

Left alone in solitude, couples retire to a luxurious four-poster bed to sleep al fresco on the beach under the stars. As the sun rises in the morning, couples are free to stroll along the island shore and stake a swim in the water. At a prearranged time, a dhow boat arrives to whisk the couple back to Anantara Medjumbe, where a breakfast buffet awaits them.

Guests can enjoy the Star Bed Experience as part of the all-inclusive Discovery Experience package, which comprises accommodations, daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, free flowing beverages, non-motorized water sport activities and an in-room mini bar, as well as the Star Bed Experience.
