Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya Unveils New Wellness Experiences

Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya has introduced new wellness experiences for guests to reflect, relax and recharge in 2023. The health-focused itineraries include Yucatán Peninsula-inspired spa treatments, personalized sessions with the resident shaman and beachfront silent yoga along the Caribbean shore.

Naum Wellness & Spa offers a range of Mayan-inspired treatments. Guests can also create their own ritual to optimal wellness, tied to an intention: He’lel (rest), Tsoolik (clarity), Muuk’ (strength), or Molcintah (connection). The spa has also launched new treatments that utilize locally sourced ingredients. These include:

  • Melipona Honey Massage and Mask Ritual – Melipona honey from stingless bees, native to the Yucatán Peninsula and used by Mayan healers, is used in this treatment for a full-body massage and face mask
  • Herbal Detox Massage – This aromatherapy treatment reduces stress with a blend of anti-inflammatory herbs
  • Cacao & Coffee Body Treatment – This 75-minute treatment promote youth and relaxation through antioxidants present in Mayan cacao and coffee
  • After-Sun Treatment – This treatment uses aloe vera and cucumber to hydrate the skin and reduce redness after days spent at the beach
  • Grape Stem Cell & White Tea Hydration Wrap – This three-part series begins with dry brush exfoliation, followed by a grape stem cell, white tea and seaweed body butter wrap, and ends with a soothing scalp massage

In addition, Fernanda Montiel, Andaz Mayakoba’s resident shaman, creates experiences for guests to =connect with their surroundings. Her signature rituals are focused on the number three, where each has a beginning, middle and end. The new shamanic experiences include a 60-minute Spiritual Session, a personalized Shamanic Session and Mayan Meditation.

Andaz Mayakoba also offers a range of fitness and adventure experiences such as scuba diving, snorkeling, eco-cruising and wave running. The latest addition to these activities is the hour-long beachfront silent yoga, where guests enjoy views of the Caribbean Sea. Attendees receive noise-canceling headphones as the instructor guides movements through meditative playlists, enabling participants to fully focus inward.

Foodies can indulge in the Mexican culinary scene with vegan offerings at the resort’s eateries Sotavento and Casa Amate, besides the fully vegan menu at VB. The resort also offers weekly cooking classes. Attendees can learn how to make local vegan dishes from the resort’s chefs.
