Angsana Corfu, Banyan Tree’s First European Hotel, to Debut in July

Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts is shaking up the European hotel scene with the announcement of their first property in Europe, Angsana Corfu. Opening July 10, 2019, Angsana Corfu will have private pool villas, a fine dining restaurant run by Michelin-starred Corfiot Italian chef Ettore Botrini and the renowned Angsana Spa.

The chic, cliff-edge resort with views of the Ionian Sea and surrounding mountain landscape is located just seven miles from Corfu International Airport (Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport) and eight miles from the city’s port, near the fishing village of Benitses. When the property opens this summer, it will be the only internationally branded and managed resort in Corfu and will offer the largest entry-level room size, the largest infinity pool and the largest hotel spa on-island. Good to know: The hotel will be open year-round for guests seeking winter wellness breaks.

Four Bedroom Presidential Pool Villa, Sea View

The resort will be home to 199 rooms, suites and private pool villas. There will be 56 Hill View Grand Rooms, 38 Sea View Grand Rooms, 15 Sea View Junior Suites, 42 Sea View Suites, four Angsana Sea View Suites and 40 Private Pool Villas with Sea View (ranging from one-bedroom to a presidential four-bedroom pool villa).

Botrini's Restaurant

Angsana Corfu will have five restaurants and six lounges—from Pan Asian to authentic Greek dining—and will include a fine dining restaurant by Michelin-starred Corfiot Italian chef Ettore Botrini. In 1999, Botrini followed up with his father at the famous restaurant Etrusco in Corfu, and in 2011 he opened Botrini in Athens, which received a Michelin star in 2014.

At Sofrito, guests can indulge themselves on Greek cuisine. For those looking for a wellness kick, the Juice Bar is located at the indoor pool level, serving fresh juices, fruits, Greek yogurt and energy smoothies.

Guests can also dine under the stars at the rooftop lounge bar or dine facing the water at the resort’s beach club. Angsana Corfu will also offer a series of “destination dining” experiences, including a mountain picnic and a romantic beach dinner for two. What’s more, guests can also take part in cooking classes with the resort’s culinary team.

Angsana Spa

Angsana Corfu Spa Relaxation Area

The award-winning Angsana Spa will have 16 treatment rooms, including single and double rooms featuring Jet Pool facilities and five outdoor spa pavilions. The destination spa and gym have a menu with over 50 spa treatments. Wellness programs include Pilates, cardio and dance classes; yoga instruction will take place on an outdoor yoga pavilion. Angsana Spa’s treatments place an emphasis on natural ingredients, such as native flowers and fruits.

There will also be indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a Kids’ Club (with a separate pool) and water sports for guest to use.

Looking to take something home? The resort’s Angsana Gallery will offer a selection of spa amenities, Asian-style home furnishing, resort apparel and accessories, as well as a selection of traditional handicrafts.
