Capella to Operate Regent Singapore, Now Managed by Four Seasons

Another big hotel will be switching hands. The Regent Singapore has been managed by Four Seasons since 1992. Centrally located within walking distance of Singapore Botanic Gardens and Orchard Road, the hotel has a solid, five-star reputation among both business and leisure travelers. Soon the hotel—owned by Pontiac Land Group—will be entering into a new management agreement with Capella Hotel Group. Four Seasons will finish its management contract on December 31, 2018, and the luxury hotel will fall under the auspices of Capella on January 1, 2019.

There are 440 guestrooms, an outdoor swimming pool, a gym with fitness trainers, dedicated events space and Michelin-star dining at the Cantonese restaurant Summer Palace. Four Seasons will still be present in the Singapore market, however, with Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, situated at 190 Orchard Boulevard.

Capella Hotel Group currently operates nine luxury hotels, with an additional 10 properties in the pipeline. As noted by The Straits Times, Capella was purchased from The Ritz-Carlton-founding president Horst Schulze in October 2017 by the Kwee family, "which owns the Pontiac Land Group that owns The Regent." Since the sale, the Capella brand has been undergoing an expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.

In buzzworthy recent news, the Capella resort in Ubud, Bali is now open. This ultra-luxury resort scored highly when Luxury Travel Advisor surveyed its Advisory Board about the most anticipated hotel openings of 2018. It was conceived by world famous designer Bill Bensley as a 22-suite retreat surrounded by rice paddies and lush rainforest.
