The Dorchester Launches New Family Experiences for Summer

In a bid to help families make the most of their London trips this summer, The Dorchester is introducing new fun-filled experiences.

From a cooking class in the kitchen to a day in the life of a real prince or princess with a ride to Buckingham Palace in a classic Rolls-Royce to picnics and treasure hunts at Hyde Park, there is lots for kids to look forward to. And while the hotel keeps the kids entertained, parents can spend some alone time together, with a dinner for two at one of the hotel's restaurants, including the recently launched Dorchester Rooftop.

After a long day of sightseeing, bike-riding, horse-riding or exploring Hyde Park, families can unwind with a cozy movie night with the hotel transforming the room to create a cinema experience with movie snacks, a dessert buffet, an "unlimited" movie library and hot chocolate. For little adventurers, the room can be turned into a camping adventure, with a children’s den, special tents and treats.

A special Children’s Afternoon Tea inspired by a day out in London is also available at The Promenade at The Dorchester, serving a feast of milkshakes, bitesize sandwiches and cakes with chocolate and sprinkles.

Tip: The Dorchester has also partnered with Sharky & George to launch a Kids Club, available for guests’ children to attend between 12:30 and 4 p.m. on Saturdays throughout July and August.

Those staying at The Dorchester will also have special access to the recently opened spa at sister hotel, 45 Park Lane, welcoming children to use the 66-foot swimming pool between 9 and 11 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. daily accompanied by an adult. The dedicated swimming session can be booked with a member of the front desk team or via both The Dorchester Spa and The Spa at 45 Park Lane teams.

Daily breakfast for the family and treats for the little ones will set guests up for a day exploring the city. There are also unique in-room amenities, from welcome chocolate-chip cookies to a silver rubber ducky ready and waiting for bath-time. Before bed, every member of the family can snuggle in their very own bathrobe.

Deal: Guests of The Dorchester’s "Family Time" package booking a luxury room will enjoy 50 percent off a second room or if booking one of the hotel’s suites guests will receive a second room complimentary.
