Shangri-La The Shard, London Debuts New Fitness Partnership

Shangri-La The Shard, London has entered into a partnership with the U.K. digital fitness platform Fiit, offering quality fitness and training solutions for guests.

Whether traveling for business or leisure, people are increasingly looking for hotels that provide convenient fitness options, and with the COVID-19 pandemic having a significant impact on consumer behaviors, in-room fitness solutions are primed to become a mainstream offering. The new offering from Fiit will give guests full autonomy on how, when and where they work out.

The remote fitness solution also tackles ongoing social distancing regulations, by enabling hotel guests to work out together, from their separate rooms.

Hotel guests will be offered a one-month free membership to Fiit, enabling them to access the interactive fitness experience for the duration of their stay and even once they leave the hotel.

In addition to the on-demand class offerings, Fiit also offers group classes, allowing visitors to connect to a live leaderboard and train together. Shangri-La The Shard, London also plans to create a Fiit community for guests staying at the hotel, offering early morning, private group classes hosted by the hotel. These classes will also include the live leaderboard feature, providing all the camaraderie and motivation of an in-person fitness class.

Fiit had earlier announced a partnership with Locke, the wellness-focussed apartment brand. Guests of its eight locations in the U.K., Ireland and Germany will be given a 30-day complimentary trial of the Fiit platform.

Access to the complimentary trial can be accessed through the Locke QR Code, provided by the House Host upon check-in. Yoga mats are included in all Locke apartments as a brand standard, and should guests choose to join an equipment class, all locations—with the exception of Eden Locke in Edinburgh—have fully equipped gyms on-site for members to use.
