Esperanza Announces New Culinary at the Cove Program

Led by the beachfront resort’s executive chef, Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection’s new Culinary at the Cove program offers unique food experiences designed around exploration and relaxation. Chef Guillermo Gomez’s new offerings include a diving trip to the Sea of Cortez, a guided beach foraging excursion and relaxing experiences at the resort’s two new two-story beach palapas.

Gomez will join guests on both of the program’s two culinary adventures. Those participating in the diving outing will start their experience off with an RZR off-roading drive to Cabo Pulmo. Here they will meet up with local fisherman, head out to sea and dive for chocolata clams. When guests return to the beach, Gomez will use those clams to prepare a fresh beach picnic.

On the other culinary outing, Gomez will take guests down to the resort’s private beach to search for sea urchins, blue stone crabs and snails. Using that same seafood, the chef will prepare a Mexican seafood stew called Chilpachole.

The Culinary at the Cove program also offers a few experiences centered around Esperanza’s new palapas, including a morning, evening and all-day option. Guests who choose to start their day off in one of these beachfront structures will receive a personal meditation or yoga class, breakfast and lunch. For those looking for a luxurious end to their day, the sunset package offers a cocktail hour, a private chef barbecue dinner and a bonfire with s’mores.

Guests can also rent out a palapa for the full day. Those who do so will receive all the benefits of the two previous packages, as well as a choice of sea foraging with Gomez, an afternoon ceviche class, a cocktail tasting or a 45-minute massage for two.

Esperanza offers a wide range of culinary-related experiences. Other options include: A tasting tour of Mexico’s wines, led by the hotel’s beverage director Christian Moya; a mezcal tasting class, also under the direction of Moya; weekly taco nights featuring a live DJ; and weekly grilling nights.

Situated on the Baja California Peninsula’s east coast, Esperanza is located outside of Cabo San Lucas in Punta Ballena. It has 59 guestrooms and 96 one- to four-bedroom villas. There's also six restaurants, a spa, four pools, tennis courts and more.
