South Florida's Boca Raton Resort & Club has announced that it is once again becoming an independent luxury resort, re-launching itself as The Boca Raton and undergoing a physical transformation that will upgrade its accommodations, dining options and programming. It was previously flagged as a Waldorf Astoria property from 2009.
The first phase of the renovation is estimated to cost $175 million and is slated to be unveiled during winter 2021-22. The resort promises bespoke enhancements to every guest experience, from the accommodations to culinary concepts and programming.
The Boca Raton will comprise a collection of five hotels located Beachside and Harborside, each with its own personality and style. Among them, The Beach Club is an oceanfront luxury escape with three pools set on a private stretch of golden beach. It has the hotel's new Mediterranean dining concepts, Marisol and the lobby lounge, curated by lifestyle guru Colin Cowie.
Then there is the three-story residential hideaway, Bungalows, offering two-bedroom suites with full kitchens and furnished terraces and balconies. The Yacht Club is the adult-only, all-suite luxury hotel, which is set to reopen in winter 2021. All suites in this hotel come with private balconies offering views of Lake Boca Raton and its yacht-lined promenade.
Lake Boca Waterfront
Another property, which is being revitalized and is set to reopen this winter is Cloister, a historic property with impressive architecture and hidden gardens. Good to know: This resort's original structure is just steps away from the 18-hole golf course, Racquet Club and Spa. When the Cloister reopens it promises to offer immersive experiences and rotating art collections.
The 27-story Tower is also undergoing a $45 million transformation by Rockwell Group. With the best views of the waterways, the all-new luxury hotel will have two- and three-bedroom suites and is on course for a 2022 first quarter opening.
The Boca Raton's dining choices will range from fine dining to waterfront bites. The resort will offer four signature experiences with Major Food Group. The Flamingo Grill, opening this month, is a "glamorous take on the mid-century American chophouse." Sadelle's, the brunch institution with locations in New York and Las Vegas, is slated to open soon. Guests can also expect new concepts serving Japanese and Italian cuisine.

This winter, the resort will unveil Harborside Pool Club, a four-acre lakefront destination with luxury cabanas, four pools, a 450-foot lazy river, two three-story high slides, a double standing wave, retail boutique, 7,100-square-foot event lawn, 5,000-square-foot kids club, and a teens lounge, as well as new waterfront dining options.
The Boca Raton's 40,000-square-foot wellness oasis has been renamed, Spa Palmera. It will sport a new look and offer new treatments once it opens in winter.
Among other experiences, the resort will offer a supercar racing adventure and a curated shopping day with a personal stylist. Couples can spend the afternoon on a private boat, complete with snorkeling and live entertainment.
