Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo Unveils New Driving Experience

Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo in Monaco has introduced a new “Just For You” experience, adding to its portfolio curated activities for guests. The experience is called “Drive Through Time,” and includes a visit to the car collection of H.S.H. The Prince of Monaco.

New for 2024, the “Drive Through Time" experience offers a guided tour of more than 100 vehicles curated by Prince Albert II and his father, Prince Rainier III. Guests will be able to explore the collection, which includes Formula 1 cars as well as iconic models such as the Chrysler Imperial and the Rolls Phantom, while it is closed to the public. The experience offers a unique perspective on the history of Monaco, with the cars interspersed with private videos and photos of the Grimaldi family.

Centered around offering guests access to some of Monaco and the French Riviera’s hidden gems, the hotel has nine experiences on offer this year (including the new "Drive Through Time"). Additional experiences are:

“From Metropole with Love” – The experience begins with a private visit to the Monte-Carlo Casino, followed by a helicopter ride over Monaco, before lunch at Yoshi, the hotel’s Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant. Later, guests will be treated to a couples massage at Spa Metropole by Givenchy, where they will have exclusive access to the double cabin and its hot tub. This will be followed by a candlelit dinner at Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac. Guests may choose to take part in a cigar tasting at the bar, accompanied by James Bond’s “Shaken, Not Stirred” martini. A member of the hotel’s team will be at the guests’ service all day and present them with tokens for the casino after dinner.
“Following the Footsteps of Grace Kelly” – This experience takes guests on a guided tour throughout the principality, exploring the most symbolic locations marked by the Princess’ presence and taking them to the heart of her history. These include La Roseraie, Monaco Cathedral, the Princess Grace Foundation and the famous Irish Library, among other locations.
“An Evening at the Museum” – Guests can enjoy a private tour of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco. The experience ends back at the hotel, where guests will be presented with a special cocktail to be enjoyed facing the sea, under a starry sky.
“Discovering the Principality” – Guests can enjoy a guided walking tour, exploring various locations and neighborhoods across the Principality. The tour includes an after-hours visit to the Prince’s Palace of Monaco.
“Journey into Bacon’s World” – Guests can discover the artist’s rare creations, with an exhibition dedicated to his career as a furniture and carpet designer, as well as an insight into his first paintings. To end the day, guests will be gifted a book entitled “Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation.”
“Little Chefs Green” – Designed for guests aged six to 12, this experience offers young guests the chance to produce delicacies in the Odyssey kitchen alongside Pastry Chef Patrick Mesiano. The two-hour session allows children to discover pastry-making and zero-waste cooking.
“Discover the Mystery of Berluti Savoir-Faire” – In the 1980s, Olga Berluti developed the patina on leather, which was revolutionary during a time when all men’s shoes were either black or brown. With this experience, guests will discover the “Art of Patina” during a lesson in the boutique.
“Just For Your Dog” – Upon arrival, dogs are given a cozy bed, food and water bowls and treats. At the hotel’s partner salon, “For Pets Only,” guests can choose from a selection of treatments, such as ozone therapy, natural clay, an aromatic salt bath, or simple grooming, for their dogs to enjoy. This will be followed by a professional photo shoot.
