InterContinental Danang Offers Dining Adventure Aboard Tram

InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has unveiled the “Nam Tram Dining Journey” to commemorate its 10th anniversary. Sprawled across 39 hectares on Vietnam’s Son Tra Peninsula, the five-star resort is offering a four-course dining adventure aboard the Nam Tram, its funicular railway.

Spanning over 426 feet across four levels–Heaven, Sky, Earth and Sea–the Nam Tram was designed by architect Bill Bensley in the form of a traditional Vietnamese basket boat. Guests will be carried from the highest point of the resort (“Heaven”), down through the verdant hillside and ending at the private beach at “Sea” level. Couples will be treated to a four-course fine-dining menu as the carriage passes through gardens and forest, home to many species of wildlife, including the critically endangered red-shanked douc langur.

Following welcome cocktails at Citron, the all-day Vietnamese restaurant which appears to float above the hillside, the culinary journey commences with “A Heavenly Start” of appetizers. Descending through the trees, with the sea stretching out to the horizon, guests will reach “Sky,” where they can sip on champagne whilst exploring the architect’s artworks at Bensley Outsider Gallery, set in a cobblestone courtyard.

The experience continues with the main course, “Down to The Earth.” At this level, guests will also have the chance to visit La Maison 1888—the first restaurant in Vietnam with a Michelin-starred chef—and its wine cellar. Descending to “Sea,” the journey concludes at Long Bar, the beachside lounge where diners will be treated to desserts, followed by coffee or tea.

The “Nam Tram Dining Journey” is ideal for romantic dinners, special occasions or for those who enjoy new experiences and will be available from September 15, 2022.
