Joali Maldives Introduces New Fitness Programs

Joali Maldives, an all-villa resort, has announced new wellness initiatives for guests, including its Raw Fitness program and partnership with Lux Tennis.

Raw Fitness

In partnership with the Ungoofaru School in Raa Atoll, the new Raw Fitness equipment is built by students who are practicing carpentry through the school’s vocational studies program utilizing natural, recyclable materials from the resort, such as tree trunks, coconuts, wood, sand and rocks. The equipment includes handcrafted wooden structures, coconut hand weights, natural fiber ropes and more.

The program aims to inspire guests to take their fitness journey outdoors and enjoy their Maldivian island surroundings. This approach to “green exercise” is said to have positive physical and psychological health benefits, including reducing stress and mental fatigue, improving concentration and cognitive function, as well as increasing the ability to cope with stress.

Guests can participate in the program by visiting the Raw Fitness cabana. Fitness instructors are also available to conduct a guest analysis which identifies a personalized path to meet each guests’ specific fitness needs. The program is complimentary for all guests and is also available for private or group training.

Lux Tennis

Lux Tennis has curated a new tennis guest program at Joali, which includes a rotating tennis professional available to guests, complimentary social tennis for adults and children as well as private lessons.

The tennis court can be booked complimentary on a first come first serve basis, while private lessons are available by reservation. Group sessions are held every Sunday for adults and every Wednesday for children under 12 years of age.

Lessons offered at JOALI include:

  • Private Lessons: This lesson allows guests to work on different aspects of the game and focus on cardio, technique, strategy or just have a fun hit.
  • Kids Lessons: Made for kids, this lesson is an ideal way to discover tennis and learn the basics.
