There’s a lot to love in Healdsburg: The farming village that embodies the cool and chic we’ve come to associate with Sonoma wine country, once the sleepy sister to Napa. There are great places to eat fun shops, and by Q4 2020, a new hotel to rest your weary head after a day hitting the tasting rooms. Situated on 258 acres of rolling hills and vineyards to the north of town, Montage Healdsburg will have 130 guestrooms styled as bungalows and a true Californian approach to fine dining and wellness.
Designed like a suspended, glass-encased treehouse, the restaurant will serve up French-inspired Cali cuisine prepared with fresh seasonal produce. Guests will be able to watch chefs at work in the interactive expo kitchen and sample Sonoma blends in the wine bar. The cocktail program at the Scout Field Bar will reflect the restaurant’s ethos, incorporating freshly plucked herbs and citrus from the garden. (Drinks will also showcase home-made infused spirits.) The focus on fine food will continue at the seasonal pop-up outdoor kitchen and poolside venue serving fresh seafood from the Sonoma Coast; think barbecued oysters, fish tacos and crab rolls.
Another star attraction will be the Spa Montage Healdsburg. Encompassing 11,500 feet, this retreat will be elevated 20 feet above the grapevines to maximize the views of the scenic surroundings. Here you’ll also find a yoga garden, fitness center and salon. Treatments will showcase botanical blends created on property, and open-air massages will also be available. Additional resort facilities will include the infinity pool, children’s program and space for events and weddings.
The Montage brand was founded in 2002 and now comprises Montage Laguna Beach, Montage Beverly Hills, Montage Deer Valley, Montage Kapalua Bay, Montage Palmetto Bluff, and Montage Los Cabos. Additional hotels in the pipeline include Montage La Quinta and Montage Big Sky, both opening in 2021.
