New Opening: St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya

The St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya has officially opened its doors. Inspired by the neighboring 620-acre nature reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site—the Sian Ka’an Reserve—the resort owned by Grupo Alhel is a short drive from both Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. Designed by Mexican architectural firm Edmonds International with interiors by Chapi Chapo Design, the resort has a circular exterior design inspired by the constellation Pleiades, resulting in ocean views from nearly every vantage point.

The St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya has 124 guestrooms and 19 suites, including a 2,300-square-foot Presidential Suite, each offering ocean views and a private terrace or plunge pool. The guestrooms sport custom hanging mirrors, bedside tables, ceramic light pendants and intricate walnut wood-carved headboards. All guests will also have access to The St. Regis Signature Butler Service.

The resort also houses a range of F&B venues. The signature restaurant TORO by Chef Richard Sandoval is a bar and restaurant with a Latin-inspired menu; Chaya has a menu that combines local ingredients with Eastern Mediterranean culinary elements; the beachfront Riviera blends the South of France with the Mayan Riviera; and The Library is the perfect place to experience St. Regis’ signature ritual of afternoon tea and enjoy a tasting of Mexican chocolate. Additional venues include the intimate St. Regis Bar; Jack’s Club, a hidden speakeasy; Pik Nik, a grab-and-go deli; and The Beach Club serving light bites.

The St. Regis Spa offers eight treatment suites and a standalone salon. Guests can enjoy treatments inspired by ancient practices and featuring local ingredients; they will also have access to the Athletic Club. The Beach Club will offer access to a selection of water sports, besides adults-only and family pools.

As part of the brand’s “Family Traditions” program, the property offers the Tortuga Children’s Club. Located less than half a mile from a coral reef, the resort is also an ideal launching pad for underwater exploration.

The resort also has over 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space across six meeting venues. From the Astor Ballroom to the 7,300-square-foot Great Lawn, the resort can accommodate up to 600 guests for a range of events.
