It’s been years in the making, and now the highly anticipated Oberoi Marrakech is expected to open its doors in the Q2 of 2017. Construction has been underway on this palace resort since 2014—soon to join the wealth of luxury accommodations in Morocco’s “Red City.” Located a 20-minute drive south of the city center, the Oberoi Marrakech has been designed in the style of a traditional palace of “ancient Morocco”—nestled on a 25-acre estate with views of the Atlas Mountains.

A resort highlight will be the destination spa, sprawling across a private island on a lake within the citrus orchard. Encompassing 21,530 square feet, the spa facilities will include hammams, swimming pools, a fitness center, and treatment rooms where guests can choose between Ayurvedic and Moroccan-inspired treatments or Balinese, Western and Oberoi signature rituals. Note: There will also be yoga classes in the gardens.

Beyond the spa, the resort will have a library, children’s activity club, and multiple F&B outlets. All of the guest rooms will be serviced by 24-hour butlers; the smallest room will measure 2100 square feet.
