Pendry Manhattan West Opens Doors

Pendry Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of Pendry Manhattan West, the brand’s first hotel in New York City. In collaboration with Brookfield Properties, the hotel is designed by Skidmore and Owings & Merrill and has 164 luxury guestrooms, including 30 suites, by Gachot Studios. Other amenities include over 6,000 square feet of multi-purpose entertainment and meeting venues, a fitness center, a curated art collection spotlighting works from both New York City and Los Angeles-based artists, and a variety of food and beverage concepts, including Bar Pendry, the Garden Room and signature restaurant, Zou Zou’s.

Pendry is located in Manhattan West, an eight-acre, six-building mixed-use complex, complete with 250,000 square feet of retail anchored by Peloton’s “Peloton Studios,” a 35,000-square-foot flagship location, as well as a 60,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market. There are high-end experiential shops and more than 25 food and beverage concepts. Also on display are public art and events by Arts Brookfield, Brookfield’s arts and entertainment program. Part of this commitment to the arts is embodied in Midnight Theatre, a contemporary variety theater that highlights talent from the worlds of magic, music, comedy, Broadway and more. Pendry Manhattan West will provide guests exclusive access to the theater.

The restaurant Zou Zou’s, part of Quality Branded, is a modern Eastern Mediterranean restaurant from Chefs Madeline Sperling and Juliana Latif. The menu celebrates the cuisine and flavors of the Eastern Mediterranean region, with influences from Lebanon, Israel, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, among others. Designed by AvroKO, the 75-seat space has an open kitchen centered around a wood-fired hearth. Zou Zou’s is currently open for dinner and will serve lunch beginning later this fall. Pendry’s lobby bar, Bar Pendry comprises an intimate lounge space and a glowing marble bar.

Just steps from the hotel’s entrance, the Garden Room is a light-filled day-to-night space with high ceilings, lush greenery and ample seating. The highlights are the vertical John Wigmore white Moriki collage panels and all-day coffee menu by Vittoria and cocktails.

Pendry Manhattan West also has 6,000 square feet of meeting space to accommodate events of all sizes and each venue is equipped with natural light, technology and a central setting. The meeting spaces include a 1,600-square-foot ballroom, an open concept gallery, a boardroom, and an outdoor terrace space filled with greenery.
