The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago has completed a multi-million-dollar renovation of its 26 Lakeside Suites, a project spanning 26,000 square feet of accommodations updated with a modern aesthetic drawn from the city's skyline and views of Lake Michigan.
Billy Quimby Design led the renovation, with custom casework and upholstery by Artco Hospitality Furnishings. The redesign introduces residential-inspired interiors, elevated amenities, and reworked layouts intended to reflect the hotel's signature luxury experience.
"The transformation of the Lakeside Suites was inspired by the intersection of urban refinement and waterfront serenity, resulting in a design that is both striking and inviting," said Quimby. "Through the careful use of vibrant accents, tactile materials and sculptural elements, each suite delivers a heightened sense of place while offering guests an elevated hospitality experience."
Each suite centers on a wet bar with a bespoke quartz backsplash, paired with sapphire-hued furnishings, Italian-crafted leather, cerused white oak, cherry wood accents, neutral tones, and stone surfaces. Abstract artwork curated by Chicago-based Shashi Caudill Photographs + Fine Art hangs above the dining room consoles, behind the beds, and throughout the living areas.
In the living rooms, a custom easel positioned between the two window bays integrates the television without competing with each suite's defining feature: the panoramic lakefront views.

"Every design choice was intentional, and no detail was spared."
The debut lands ahead of peak summer season in Chicago, when advisors can pair a suite stay with The Ritz-Carlton Spa, cocktails at Torali Bar, or Italian-inspired dining at Torali Restaurant, where the rooftop hosts live entertainment on Fridays throughout the season. Clients seeking an added layer of luxury can book access to the hotel's Club Lounge, which offers personalized service, curated culinary programming, and sweeping city views.
