The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay Unveils “2023 Global Cuisine Series”

The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay has announced the return of its “Global Cuisine Series.” Overseen by the resort’s culinary leaders, Executive Chef Roberto Riveros-Leyton and fine-dining restaurant Navio’s Chef de Cuisine Francisco Simón, the event features visiting Michelin-starred chefs from around the world.

This year’s edition is spearheaded by Simón who collaborates with visiting chefs to prepare signature dinner and brunch menus for one weekend at Navio.

The first guest chef in the “Global Cuisine Series” is Chef Miguel Navarro of Es Fum at The St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort. From February 2-5, 2023, Chef Navarro will offer Mediterranean-style cuisine, inspired by the bounty of Half Moon Bay’s rich aquaculture and nearby farm communities. Now leading the culinary team at the Michelin-starred Es Fum, Chef Navarro, born on La Gomera in the Canary Islands, has a wealth of experience in restaurants with two or three Michelin stars.

With a history of collaboration together in Barcelona at Lasarte by Martin Berasategui, both chefs Roberto Riveros-Leyton and Navarro share a strong, disciplined working method, which then allows them the freedom to explore their passions and incorporate influences from all of their global training.

Navio will offer reservations February 2-5, 2023. The collaborative menu will be served for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The seven-course Chef’s Tasting Menu, offered at dinner, will feature three dishes from the visiting chef and is available for $249 per guest. Navio’s two-hour Weekend Brunch experience will feature three dishes from the guest chef with seatings from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $249 per guest.

Other guest highlights include Chef Rachel Haggstrom of The Restaurant at JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery, CA (April 20-23, 2023) and Chef Pepe Moncayo of Cranes, Washington, D.C. (November 2-5, 2023).
