Ski the Italian Alps: Le Massif Opens in Courmayeur

Calling all powder hounds. There’s a luxurious new ski resort in the Alps—and it’s got a focus on wellness, to boot. Le Massif debuted in December 2018 in a picturesque setting in the Aosta Valley. In the shadow of Mont Blanc, charming Courmayeur is located on the Italian side of the Mont Blanc tunnel which connects to Chamonix in France. And Le Massif is set on the mountainside right in the center of town, just a three-minute walk from the ski lifts taking you to Plan Checrouit.

Channeling a contemporary, minimalist alpine vibe, the resort was designed by Italian architects Fabrizio Gandolfo and Inart Studio. The 78 guestrooms and suites are decked out in natural materials like wood and stone; the suites are perched on the top floors to offer the best views.

A dedicated ski concierge will arrange your mountain pass, classes with professional teachers, and ski equipment—which is stored in a dedicated ski room directly on the slopes. After a day on the powdery pistes, return to relax at Le Massif, where you can partake in spa wellness therapies like alpine stone massages and forest bathing.

Resort facilities include a Kids Club, a fitness center, and several restaurants and bars including a steakhouse, a mountainside chalet situated at 1,700 meters, a gourmet restaurant and Le Massif Club Bar, which takes up an entire floor.

Le Massif is a member of Leading Hotels of the World. It's the fourth property for the Italian Hospitality Collection (IHC), a luxury group with a portfolio of hotels and spas in Tuscany and Sardinia.
