Sushi Master Chef Endo Kazutoshi Opens Pop-Up at The Berkeley

Londoners and travelers looking for a new foodie experience in the capital city will be pleased to hear that Chef Endo Kazutoshi, a third-generation sushi master and one of the pioneers behind Zuma, is set to launch a pop-up sushi restaurant at The Berkeley in Knightsbridge. The sushi master and his team will provide guests with an intimate and traditional omakase experience at the hotel running for a limited time through August 31.

This culinary experience will take place within a specially designed space at The Berkeley, which has been transformed for this one-off occasion. The pop-up restaurant will comprise of a bespoke sushi bar with seating for eight. The 15-course omakase menu, translating as "chef’s choice," highlights top selections from Chef Endo's 20-year career. Signature dishes will include: Scottish scallop oshinogi, lemon sole usuzukuri and wagyu beef agemono. Complementing the dishes will be a curated sake and wine pairing menu.

"Endo at The Berkeley," in partnership with Robin Leigh’s Lord Simon Restaurants, will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings with two sittings each night at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., priced at £150 per guest. The Sake and Wine pairing will be priced separately on the evening.

Third generation sushi master Endo Kazutoshi was born in Yokohama Japan and, at the age of 22, followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather to begin his culinary career in the family restaurant. He soon moved to an exclusive private dining room, where he served heads of state and others. In 2006, in London, Endo joined the world-famous Zuma Group, quickly working his way up to executive head sushi chef for the group worldwide. He is now focusing on developing his own brand, ENDO, which he began in August 2015, which coincided with the end of his time with the Zuma Group.
