The Taj brand is launching Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa, Uttarakhand just outside of Rishikesh, India.
The resort is about 20 miles from Rishikesh—spread over 12 acres of terraced gardens near the river Ganges with the Himalayas in the distance. Each of the 79 rooms have panoramic views of the Ganges. Taj Rishikesh, combining both contemporary and rustic styles in communion with nature, is an architectural tribute to the Garhwal region in the Himalayas, where it is located.
Guests have several eateries to choose from: An all-day diner, a specialty restaurant offering cuisine inspired from the entire Himalayan belt and an open-air pizza bar. The resort has indoor and outdoor banqueting spaces appropriate for intimate weddings and conferences.
It is home to the Jiva Spa, spread over 20,000 square feet which includes treatment rooms and an expansive Yoga Pavilion. Jiva Spa is rooted in ancient Indian wellness tradition, offering holistic programs like yoga and meditation. Jiva Spas were recently debuted at several Taj Locations—Taj Exotica Resort & Spa and Taj hotels in London—which also feature Ayurveda therapies, yoga, meditation, nutrition and beauty treatments.
Guests can also take part in a private Ganga Aarti on the resort’s Pebble Beach or other activities, like white-river rafting, rock climbing, rappelling, kayaking, local village visits and hiking.
