Terraces at The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue Have Been Redesigned

Terrace rooms exclusive to the fifth and 11th floors at The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue have been updated. Designed and landscaped by Blondie’s Treehouse Inc., a New York-based landscape design and horticultural company, terraces are attached to three guestrooms on the fifth floor, and one junior suite and two guest rooms on the 11th floor. Each one can be used per individual room or as a cluster to create a larger communal terrace.

The fifth-floor terraces, corresponding to rooms No. 516, 517 and 519, are adorned with teal-hued furnishings, including a couch, two armchairs, a coffee table and two wicker ottomans on each terrace. They are separated by hand-crafted wooden walls covered with faux English ivy and accented with evergreen shrubs nicknamed “false cypress.” “Great laurel” takes up the back corner, along with English ivy, which will continually grow up the back wall.

The 11th-floor terraces showcase Fifth Avenue, affording ample skyline views and maximum sunlight. Each terrace is decorated in shades of coral, featuring a couch, two armchairs, a coffee table and a high-boy table with two barstools. To divide each terrace, moveable wood lattice dividers, decorated with a non-invasive bamboo, close them in. Small, low bowls of a robust grass-like plant, and moss pepper the terrace with green along with a wall of English ivy at the northern end.

All accommodations are equipped with marble-clad bathrooms, Duxiana beds, hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, residentially inspired décor and complimentary Nespresso machines.

Amenities and services at the hotel include:

  • Complimentary house car on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Complimentary pressing of up to five items at check-in
  • A full-service spa, Chuan Body + Soul, located on the fourth floor
  • An expansive meeting and event space
  • A Michelin-starred restaurant, Ai Fiori
  • A destination bar and lounge, Bar Fiori
  • A private art collection by New York artist Alex Katz on display in public spaces.
