W Hotels Worldwide to Open First Japan Property in 2021

W Hotels Worldwide has announced the signing of W Osaka, slated to open in 2021. Owned by Sekisui House, a long-standing partner of Marriott International, this opening will be the first-ever W Hotel in Japan. The 27-floor hotel will offer 337 guestrooms and suites, several restaurants and cocktail-centric bars.

W Osaka, located an hour from Kansai International Airport, will place guests near the boutiques and restaurants of the city’s main thoroughfare on Mido-Suji Boulevard, allowing close access to luxury shopping experiences. The hotel will also be close to Dōtonbori, Osaka’s nightlife and entertainment district. Plus, W Osaka guests looking to explore Japan will be able to connect to several areas via the Osaka Loop Line which has 12 stops throughout the city.

Of the 337 guestrooms, there will be 35 suites, two WOW Suites and one EWOW, the top accommodation. W Osaka’s dining and craft cocktail concepts will include the WOO Bar and a second bar located on the WET Deck.

W Osaka will also provide multiple health and fitness options including FIT, a modern fitness center, and the AWAY Spa. Event facilities will include a 4,300-square-foot Great Room and three additional meeting rooms.

W Osaka is set to join more than 50 W Hotels now open globally, including the recently opened W Shanghai – The Bund, W Suzhou, W Bellevue and W Goa, as well as the soon-to-open W Panama, W Amman and W Brisbane. W Hotels is on track to reach 75 hotels by the end of 2020.
