White Desert World to Host First Trip in 2025

White Desert World has confirmed its first trip will be hosted in January 2025. Created by the pioneers behind White Desert, a luxury travel experience in Antarctica, White Desert World has been launched under the same ethos of mindful travel. The trip utilizes bucket-list luxury travel experiences to teach guests the importance of preserving and caring for the wilderness of the world.

White Desert World will offer a range of adventure travel opportunities. The first adventure to be announced is a fully carbon offset, 21-day journey that will take guests to 10 destinations across all seven continents. Starting in Mexico City, guests will travel to Colombia, Easter Island, Fiji, Borneo, India, Turkey, Namibia, South Africa and finish the journey in Antarctica. Guests will have the choice of two endings to this journey—either a “Greatest Day” trip into Antarctica where they’ll have a few hours on ice or a chance to extend their stay for a further five days there before flying back to Cape Town.

The trips will not only showcase some of the most exciting destinations in the world to guests, but, in line with the company’s purpose to explore, engage and educate, will highlight projects centered around habitat restoration, water security and blue carbon—all of which connect into the U.N. Decade on Ecosystem Restoration goals (2020-2030). As part of these goals, 50 founding initiatives have been set out by the U.N., and White Desert is already investing in Project Seagrass, one of the featured initiatives.

Besides offering the opportunity for guests to participate in these eco-projects, White Desert World offers a range of experiences, from a rare chance to explore the underground tunnels of Teotihuacan in Mexico City, to cigar-rolling with an expert in Cartagena and a guided tour of a Cape Town winery.

Guests will travel around the world in a Boeing 757-200 customized with 50 lie-flat seats. The journey will be fully offset. White Desert has been carbon-neutral since 2007 and this is an important tenet of all of its operations. The company has also committed to utilizing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for the final leg of the journey—from Cape Town to Antarctica and back.

Good to kow: As part of White Desert’s ethos of using travel as a force for good, this year, White Desert is set to launch its foundation, White Desert Earth. The project will draw on three core pillars of Blue Carbon, Green-Tech and Science and Education.

White Desert World’s 21-day trip is available for a maximum of 50 guests, and the inaugural trip will take place in January 2025. White Desert World’s team will be traveling alongside the group and experienced local guides will be supporting on the ground in each destination.
