Air France has unveiled a completely renovated dining area in its lounge at John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York. Business customers will be able to enjoy the Night Service offer in a brand-new setting, with a more convivial and contemporary feel. And, beginning February 2019, the Air France lounge will offer a range of new services dedicated to its customers’ well-being.
Located in Terminal 1 at JFK Airport, the Air France lounge is accessible to La Première, Business, Flying Blue Platinum and Gold members.
A Redesigned Dining Experience
In this area, located on the mezzanine, new furniture and imitation leather couches, inspired by a Parisian brasserie, have been custom-designed to offer a convivial atmosphere. Blue and grey tones, along with new lighting, have been added to create a more intimate atmosphere; the mezzanine floor also received new lighting and a grey palette. In total, the area is equipped with roughly 30 tables for two, a high table with six seats for dining opposite the runways and a round table, also seating six.
This new dining area has also been designed to offer customers the Night Service. At no extra charge, passengers can enjoy the same gourmet French meal in the airport lounge as the one served on board, with their meal served at their table. Each customer can thus enjoy a full meal comprising a starter, hot dish, cheese, dessert and a wine and Champagnes list.
The idea is this now allows customers to enjoy a good night’s sleep in the comfort of the Business class cabin, which has a seat that transforms into a lie-flat bed. Tip: Customers can choose to eat again during the flight, if they so wish.
Since the launch of the Night Service in 2016, close to 50 percent of customers traveling in Business class on overnight flights dine in the lounge, Air France reports.
