Earlier this month, Fairway One at The Lodge, amid numerous renovations for Pebble Beach Resorts, officially cut its ribbon. The guest room and meeting complex is one of the first of several renovations the resort is undertaking to prepare for not only the 2018 Amateur and 2019 U.S. Open Championships, which are being hosted at the golf course, but also the resort's 100th anniversary celebration in 2019.
Located along the left side of the first fairway, the aptly named Fairway One encompasses three two-story buildings with 10 guest rooms each, two four-bedroom golf cottages and the Fairway One meeting facility, all with views of the golf course, internal gardens and the Pacific Ocean.
Fairway One has 38 new guest rooms, including two stand-alone cottages, each with four bedrooms attached to a common living room. The complex also includes a separate meeting facility that overlooks the famous first fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links. Following an opening ceremony, attendees toured Fairway One while sampling food and beverages representative of the special catering options available at the new complex.
The Fairway One cottages are named The Eastwood Cottage and The Palmer Cottage for two of the more famous owners and board members of Pebble Beach Company—Clint Eastwood and Arnold Palmer. Each cottage fronts the first fairway and has a 1,000-square-foot living room, two king bedrooms, two queen/queen bedrooms and an outdoor terrace with a fire pit. Amenities include two 55-inch HDTVs, a wet bar and a dining area.
The 30 Fairway One guest rooms, located behind the cottages all start at 660 square feet in size. Each room has large picture windows and terraces to create a panoramic view of the golf course and the Pacific Ocean. The 2,500-square-foot meeting Fairway One meeting facility can be booked individually or as a group buyout and is appropriate for business events, weddings and social gatherings. The space is furnished with local art and natural materials reflective of Pebble Beach.
Renovations will continue next winter at The Lodge at Pebble Beach following the completion of Fairway One. Guest rooms at The Inn at Spanish Bay are also being upgraded, as is the interior and technological amenities of Casa Palmero in the coming months.
