Playa Cativo Lodge Adds Accommodations, Wellness Program

Beachfront eco-lodge Playa Cativo Lodge doubled its accommodations with the unveiling of nine new casitas. The Costa Rican property also introduced a new spa program, Lotus Wellness, which includes two treatment rooms, an outdoor plunge pool and a lounge area.

Built from reclaimed hardwood and featuring tile artwork designed by local artisans, Playa Cativo’s guestrooms include indoor terraces, rain showers, biodegradable amenities and, thanks to their open-air design, uninterrupted views of the ocean and rain forest.

Now with 18 options, the hotel’s accommodations program includes one Deluxe Guest Room, four Luxury Guest Rooms, five Premium Guest Rooms and eight Premium Plus Guest Rooms. For couples, especially those on their honeymoon, the hotel recommends the Premium Plus rooms, which come with their own private outdoor terrace and plunge pool.

The new wellness program centers around a treatment menu that Lotus Wellness has named La Cura de la Abuela, or “Grandma’s Cure.” Visitors have the choice of receiving these experiences either on land, on the hotel’s yoga decks, or out on the water on a stand-up paddle board.

Playa Cativa provides a wide range of activities for guests to choose from. On the property, visitors can relax at the hotel’s outdoor swimming pool, and for those looking to explore, Playa Cativo offers complimentary snorkeling, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and self-guided nature hikes. For those looking for more, the hotel’s Adventure Center Concierge offers an assortment of guided tours that range from Dolphin and Whale Sightseeing to a Nocturnal Rainforest Guided Expedition.
