Poetry Inn Napa Valley Unveils its New Look

Cliff Lede, proprietor of Poetry Inn Napa Valley, recently announced that the interior aesthetic of the private five-suite wine country sanctuary has been “reimagined” by St. Helena-based Erin Martin Design. The interior design refresh was completed along with updates to the exterior landscape surrounding the secluded property in the Stags Leap District, including the creation of a private hiking trail that leads guests from the inn to the top of the ridgeline above.

Martin and her team worked with an assortment of textures and natural materials in order to create a stimulating and modern, yet comfortable, contrast to Poetry Inn’s timeless Napa elegance. Guests will discover accents of greenery, decorative surprises and unique art in each suite—multiple visits are warranted to explore all five suites.

Upon arrival, guests will be greeted at Hemingway Bar—the newest addition to the inn—with a glass of wine from the proprietor’s Cliff Lede Vineyards or FEL Wines labels. The welcome experience continues in the central lounge which beckons guests to inspect antique typewriters and relax on an oversized sofa beneath the frame of a wooden canoe, which are just some of the eye-catching design elements introduced by Martin.

Each of the inn’s five spacious suites, which are themed after famous poets such as Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost, have been pepped up with decorative artwork by artist Michael Duté who was invited to use Poetry Inn’s walls as his canvas. Duté’s artwork pays homage to the poet after which each suite is named. For instance, the walls of the Robert Louis Stevenson suite are adorned with stanzas from “My Shadow,” while the Robert Frost suite features a mural of the woods from “The Road not Taken.”

Poetry Inn Napa Valley is available for year-round nightly bookings as well as whole-property rentals.
