Redesigned Oceana Hotel Debuts in Santa Monica This October

The redesigned Oceana, a boutique hotel on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica, CA will debut this fall. The 70-suite hotel is blocks away from the boutiques and cafes on Montana Avenue, and a short walk from the Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade.

The chic hotel, which was formerly known at the Oceana Beach Club Hotel, underwent a $25 million overhaul. It now offers exclusive access to an outdoor courtyard lounge and swimming pool, as well as a private indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar curated by Santa Monica restaurateur Raphael Lunetta. The restaurant will serve seasonal Californian cuisine rooted in hyper-local ingredients from the Santa Monica Farmers Market.

The property’s suites will have deep blue velvet sofas, four-poster beds, luxe minibars, hand-tufted rugs from Nepal and more. Rooms include Loro Piana bedding and Frette linens, spa-inspired bathrooms with Bottega Veneta bath amenities, to go along with 65-inch flat screen TVs and personal iPads that control everything from temperature to light settings and allow guests to order room service.

The hotel is also sporting a new entrance and lobby, as well as fitness studio (complete with Peloton and Technogym equipment), spa treatment room, and a picturesque Sunset Terrace with an outdoor fireplace and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Tip: Personal trainers are available for one-on-one sessions upon request and the spa treatment room offers a full-service spa menu, manicure and pedicure station and salon chair for hair services.

The two-story entrance includes a living room, complete with a hanging glass light installation by Alison Berger and a contemporary fire pit. There will also be a custom art program in collaboration with local L.A. artists and international photographers.

Good to know: Oceana offers complimentary beach cruisers that allow guests to explore the area by bicycle, as well as a luxury house car service to transport them to all the top destinations in Santa Monica.

Anne-Juliette Maurice is the general manager at Oceana. She has previously worked at Hôtel Plaza Athénée in New York.
