Six Senses Unveils Wellness Retreat in India

Six Senses has announced the opening of Six Senses Vana. Formerly known as Vana, the Indian wellness retreat in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, has been rebranded following its addition to the Six Senses portfolio.

Spread over 21 acres, Six Senses Vana offers a range of healing therapies and treatments. Every stay includes full-board accommodation and personalized nutrition, daily retreat activities, wellness consultation and screening, and attire. Guests can choose optional extras such as “Subtle Energies” treatments, acupuncture, reflexology, realignment or a mani-pedi session. They can also customize the itinerary by choosing a program based on a specific wellness intention, with diagnostics and guidance from experts:

  • Sleep – Guests’ sleep patterns will be tracked to help them reset through treatments and therapies including yoga nidra, holistic massages, night-time soporific drinks, and more
  • Detox – This includes a curated meal plan, Ayurvedic treatments and therapies to slow the fight/flight response, besides digital detox, to reset energy levels and bring clarity
  • Weight management – Guests can achieve gradual weight loss, or gain, through fitness activities, stimulating treatments, meditation, biohacking and a personalized meal plan
  • Yoga – Private sessions will include guided meditation, breathwork with signature massages and energy treatments
  • Ayurveda – Treatments are delivered by doctors and therapists to heal imbalances in the body
  • Tibetan medicine – A trained “Sowa Rigpa” practitioner at the retreat will assist guests on their wellness journey by employing traditional healing methods

Guests can also enjoy multi-sensory treatments as they float in the warmth of the Watsu pool or meditate to music therapy.

Close to Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga, and north of Dehradun on the approach to the Himalayas, guests have enjoyed Vana as a sanctuary for rebalancing, healing and learning since it first opened in January 2014. The ownership of Six Senses also remains with Veer Singh, the founder. His interest in sustainable farming, traditional wisdom and nature will continue to be nurtured.

What changes is the brand’s vision to deepen and strengthen the current offering, and complement it with signature experiences. In addition to the above programs, guests can create their own spa products at the Alchemy Bar.

As part of the “Grow With Six Senses” program to be introduced later this year, children aged six and above can participate in learning opportunities through the exploration of art, music, movement, storytelling and newly built interactive spaces.

Salana, the all-day dining restaurant offers tasty, nutritious meals; the bar serves healthy drinks and tonics. Other facilities include a lifestyle concept store for sustainable fashion and spa products, and courts for various ball games. Cultural programming includes arts, music, exhibitions and performances. Guests can also enjoy daily group activities such as hikes and excursions.
