ULUM Opens First Location Near Moab, UT

Under Canvas has announced the debut of ULUM, a new, safari-inspired, luxury outdoor resort brand with its first location near Moab, UT.

ULUM Moab is spread across 200 acres of desert landscape. The lobby has floor-to-ceiling glass windows framing views of nearby Looking Glass Arch and Canyonlands National Park beyond. The lobby makes use of organic materials such as local stone, natural wood and polished concrete, and opens up onto a terraced deck with pools, fire pits, a yoga deck and lounge spaces.

Each of the resort’s 360-square-foot Suite Tents has a bedroom with king bed, plush linens and robes, a lounge area, including a queen size sofa-bed and lounge chairs, and a private 70-square-foot deck. The en-suite bathroom offers a rain shower, polished concrete sink and plant-based bath products. An evaporative fan and wood-burning stove are also to be found.

At the restaurant, craft cocktails reflecting local flora such as sage, juniper and prickly pear complement a seasonal, Southwest-inspired menu, all enjoyed al fresco surrounded by the desert landscape. In addition to a full breakfast and dinner menu in the restaurant, an onsite espresso and smoothie bar brings coffee culture to the outdoors with hot and cold espresso beverages, smoothies and grab-and-go snacks.

Rooted in a commitment to sustainable initiatives, ULUM Moab offers Rivian Waypoints Level 2 chargers to allow for guests with electric vehicles to adventure responsibly and enjoy the convenience of an overnight charge. The resort follows International Dark Sky principles, recognizing thoughtful development practices that mitigate light pollution and maximize the night’s sky. Additionally, Under Canvas has teamed up with The Nature Conservancy to help fund conservation and raise awareness through education, volunteer efforts and donation programs—and invites guests of ULUM to join the company with a donation of their choosing to support research and actions to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Complimentary wellness and lifestyle activities include guided yoga, stargazing, onsite hiking, live acoustic music and evening s’mores. For one-of-a-kind excursions, ULUM’s Adventure Concierge connects guests with local outfitters for white water rafting, rock-climbing at adjacent Looking Glass Arch, guided national park tours, favorite local hikes, and more.

ULUM Moab’s inaugural season runs through October 23, 2023.
