W Hotels continues the opening of W Sound Suites across its portfolio. The W Barcelona welcomed the brand's signature suite, as did W Hollywood's, which also underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation.
Barcelona, a flagship of W Hotels Worldwide, unveiled the multimillion-dollar transformation of all 473 guestrooms and suites. The in-house design team at W Hotels partnered with London-based design studio Bowler James Brindley to reimagine the hotel, inspired by the energy and shore location of Barceloneta, a neighborhood in Barcelona.
The new room design includes a color palette of blues, plus hints of white, teal, and rose gold. Underwater camouflage is displayed in the rooms carpet, which, according to a written release, "is a playful interpretation of the sea bed seen through waters of the Mediterranean."
The modular furniture, such as small, chic tables with pendant lighting, in each guestroom's sitting area is meant to reflect Spanish tapas culture. The rooms also have signature accent pillows with modern images of iconic characters from Barcelona's history, including Gaudi, Dali and St. Eulalia.
Following the renovation, all guestrooms also offer a range of new in-room services including Nespresso coffee machines, tea making facilities, 49-inch flat-screen televisions and Bose Bluetooth sound systems. Signature W Amenities are still available to guests, including Bliss Spa bath products, the signature W Hotels Bed, high-speed Wi-F, and the brand's Whatever/Whenever service.
Following the opening of the world's first W Sound Suite last year at W Bali and the first North American W Sound Suite at W Seattle, W Hotels Worldwide has unveiled the latest W Sound Suite at W Hollywood. In partnership with Coca-Cola, the private music studio and writers room offers hotel guests and musicians alike the opportunity to experience recording like a professional.
W Sound Suites are in part the brainchild of the brand's North American music director, DJ White Shadow - known for his work with Lady Gaga. Under DJ White Shadow's guidance, each suite has been custom-fitted with professional grade sound equipment from top tech companies in sound production.
W Hotels and Coca-Cola partnered with Native Instruments and Shure to outfit the W Sound Suite with state-of-the-art equipment including control keyboard, all-in-one DJ system, and professional grade headphones, and microphones. The W Sound Suite will also provide a Yamaha acoustic guitar and Fender jaguar bass for guests and artists to use during their sessions.
