A&K Offers New “Wings Over the World” Journeys for 2023

Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has expanded its “Wings Over the World” portfolio, adding five new itineraries for 2023: Alaska, Australia, East Africa, India, and Italy and its Islands. With these additions, A&K offers a total of 14 Wings journeys covering Southern Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Mexico, South America and New Zealand. Wings Over the World journeys feature privately chartered flights between each destination to minimize time wasted in transit.

Wings Over Alaska

Travelers can explore Alaska, staying in remote wilderness lodges. Trip highlights include a day of private bear viewing in Katmai National Park; dogsledding with a former Iditarod racer; a private cruise of Prince William Sound, watching for whales and viewing tidewater glaciers; a train ride into the backcountry of the Chugach Mountains; and discussing conservation challenges with Fran Ulmer, chair of The Nature Conservancy, and former Lt. Governor of Alaska. Limited to 12 guests; 10 days.

Wings Over Australia

Guests can explore the Great Barrier Reef on a private charter by boat, visiting Whitehaven Beach. They can spot wildlife, including the Tasmanian devil, and visit Raptor Refuge, an A&K Philanthropy project. Trip highlights include a Sydney Harbor cruise; a private tour of the Opera House; sunrise and sunset views of Uluru; exploring the east coast of Tasmania, including lunch at the Museum of Old and New Art; and tasting sessions in Melbourne’s winelands. Accommodation includes Tasmania’s Saffire Freycinet, Longitude 131 and Intercontinental Hayman Island Resort in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. Limited to 18 guests; 13 days.

Wings Over East Africa

Visitors will experience the best of East Africa, from mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda, to tracking the Big Five in the Serengeti and the Great Migration in Kenya’s Masai Mara. Limited to 16 guests; 11 days.

Wings Over India

Guests will visit the Taj Mahal, the palaces of Jaipur, and seek out the Bengal tiger in Ranthambore National Park. In Varanasi, they can take a private sunrise cruise on the Ganges River and join a priest for a Hindu blessing ceremony in Jaipur. Accommodation includes the Oberoi Rajvilas and The Oberoi Vanyavilas. Limited to 17 guests; 12 days.

Wings Over Italy & Its Islands

Travelers can explore Italy’s mainland and island destinations, from Rome and rural Puglia to the islands of Sardinia and Sicily. They can indulge in Fettucine Alfredo at the restaurant where it was created. Trip highlights include exploring the villages of Sardinia on a 4x4 Jeep safari; sampling Sicily’s local cuisine and visiting the markets of Catania; a visit to a local olive oil producer with an ancient underground mill in Ostuni; discovering the diverse local architecture; and a guided tour of Syracuse, one of the earliest colonies of ancient Greece. Limited to 13 guests; 11 days.

Each journey includes exclusive experiences only possible for intimate groups. A&K’s “Design Your Day” experiences offer a choice of at least three curated activities, with one adventure planned with active guests in mind. A&K can also recreate any Wings Over the World journey for a private group or customize a new Luxury Tailor Made Journey by Private Air.

Guests also enjoy exclusive services such as Traveller’s Valet, complimentary mid-journey laundry service, Travelling Bell Boy service to transfer luggage from hotel to hotel, and Breakfast in Bed, where guests can enjoy two mornings with in-room continental breakfast.
